We have 2 dogs, Bentley and Pepper.  They came to us back in 2006 via Missouri and Kansas.  We decided it was time to get a pet, we didn’t think a cat was our style and after reading a bit it became clear that a dog, or dogs would be a good fit.  The reason we got 2 was because of further reading, I forgot where, that they keep each other company while we’re not around.  In this post I’ll give you how we got the beasties, learn how to deal with diabetes and more.

It’s not a fancy place by any means but it holds it’s own with the best of the gastro pubs in all of Los Angeles. Wait, before you think we’re beer drinking boozers, we’re far from it. We like a nice pint now and then and it’s actually part of the experience when you go to eat at one of these place.

One of the best things about home ownership is that you aren’t paying money to a bank and not seeing the equity. One of the bad things about home ownership is that you’re on the hook to either pay someone to fix stuff or you figure out how to do it yourself.

Finding the right path

Where have I been?

I haven’t been very good about doing this mostly because I’m having motivation issues. You know how it is, the new year comes and you make all those great resolutions to be better at something, gym, eating, friendships and yes, even work but it all slips past you and before you know it it’s all been left behind like some forgotten toy from your childhood.

One step forward…

Last November was my 58th birthday.  I had a few friends come over for a dinner party, but no one really knew it was my birthday, I removed my birth date from social media so no one was sending birthday wishes that way.  It’s fine, after this many I’m just happy that I made it.  Eventually the guest knew when a toast was announced.  I also announced that in 24 months I would be retiring from working full time.  I plan on ending full time employment when I hit 60 years old.
